                                   "Norm Byrnes Arboretum"

C4 works in partnership the Cassowary Coast Regional Council to preserve the legacy of the late Norm Byrnes by showcasing the many advanced specimens of local and rare rainforest trees in the Mission Beach Arboretum. These trees provide examples of mature trees for people to see and seeds for the C4 nursery and revegetation projects.
An arboretum is "a large garden where many types of tree are grown, for people to look at and to be studied for scientific purposes" (Cambridge Dictionary).

As you walk through the World Heritage Forests which surround Mission Beach you will find yourself amongst many of the same tree species in their original setting.

Click button below to go to the current plant list.

This list describes many of the plants you will see as you walk through the Aboretum, and some you won't.
Most of the plants in the list are available to purchase as seedlings from the C4 Nursery, located at the Environment Centre next to the Tourist Information in Mission Beach."
